Colorful Crop

We were driving into San Luis Obispo from Morro Bay on Sunday along Los Osos Valley Road (known as LOVR for short).  Anyway, the land in this valley is quite rich and is planted in many kinds of vegetables.  But occasionally, they plant flowers for seeds.

On one side of the road were yellow marigolds........

and orange marigolds.

Then a few miles down the road was a field with a variety of flowers.

These photos don't do the flowers justice....they were so  beautiful.

Just for fun, I took the photo above and altered it in Photoshop to make it more "painterly".

What glorious splashes of colour against the mountain backdrop. We have a yellow crop seen here in England, which is oil seed rape. It is a very acid yellow and certainly shows up in a country that is mostly green.
