A Strange Visitor
While enjoying a beautiful sunset as we ate dinner tonight on the patio, we noticed several very large flying insects flitting around the verbena. After doing a little research on the internet, I think they might be "hummingbird moths". They are almost as big as hummingbirds.

What a glorious sunset, a stunning photo. Do the moths make any sound? they look so huge, I can imagine them humming...Kath
No sound. But they do resemble hummingbirds from a distance. And they flit from flower to flower just like hummingbirds.
